Finally!  Today is the last day I have to work before I get THE WEEKEND OFF!!!  OMG!  *__*  I am SO EXCITED!  We're going to go to Pride this weekend and meet up with her little brother and his girlfriend, so it should be fun... if its not a thousand degrees  -_-

Speaking of Pride, I heard some awesome news from work yesterday from Josh who said that during a conference call they discussed GameStop possibly having a booth at Pride.  WOOT!  That would be SWEET!  Josh apparently said that I would be perfect to help run it, lol.  I told them that the retail booths don't do much, they just are kinda there, you know, "Best Buy supports you, Target supports you," ect. ect. and they give away free swag.  Best Buy has game demos up so I KNOW GameStop can do the same thing pretty easily  :)  That would be so cool if next year GameStop did a booth at Pride, and that would be some great exposure I think  ^^

In other news, BET has been showing non-stop Michael Jackson videos all day to celebrate his life.  I've been flipping back and forth to them.  Is it sad that I remember almost ALL of these?  I'm still fascinated at the dancing after all these years.... though Thriller no longer scares me like it did when I was a kid  ^^;;;   I can't believe he was 50.  Really?  Wow, just... wow.  

And now moving onto nerdy news:  Naruto manga, THANK YOU FOR BRINGING MY GAARA BACK!  Sand team looks HAWT!  And oh Sasuke, why do you rush into things so quickly?  It seems like the rolls have reversed, because now Naruto thinks things through and Sasuke is just like, "Off we go!"  -_-  This is definitely going to bite him in the ass.

Dear Nintendo,

It's obvious that you read my rant about your company and have taken it to heart, because you kicked ass at this year's E3.  You have given me 2 new Mario games on the wii, a new Metroid, Golden Sun on the DS, Kingdom Hearts, and even A Bowser game on the DS too!  Look at you!  You're not ignoring the gamers this year!  Thank you!  Thank you so much!  

One Mario game is a sequel to Galaxy with 90% more levels and... YOSHI IS IN IT!  AH!  The second is New Super Mario Bros. wii which is more kinda old school Mario, but with 4 PLAYER CO-OP!  Metroid looks beautiful and kick ass!  A mix of third person and first person and just... wow.  Now if only you would let us reserve No More Heroes 2 and you will be the best company around this year... at least to me :)  ... until you go back to focus on wii work out a lot -_-  (though they DID mention another wiifit and all, but at least they're going back to their core games).

While I heard that Microsoft showed FFXIII at E3 again, it makes me very happy that the trailer is in English and you FINALLY have a SPRING 2010 release date!  The story sounds interesting!  I'm biased towards the stories where humans are the bad guys.  Also, thank you for Kingdom Hearts in English too!  September is a good date, right when games really start to pick up, its smart to start BEFORE the huge Bioshock 2, Assassin's Creed 2, Left for Dead 2, Modern War 2, and all the other huge rushes really kick in.  You get to start first with KH, way to go! 

Though... Final Fantasy 14?  Really?  Really?  *sigh*

Oh!  And not sure if this was at E3, but there's a SquareEnix hack and slash game called Nier coming out.  Looks very artistically bloody, lol.

Dear Microsoft,

I am... not terribly impressed with your conference... except for the 13 showing.  But... facebook and twitter?  Really?  I... am really tired of this gaming trend that is treating my video game systems like a myspace account.  Just... I don't care about updating facebook with my 360 when I have a computer to do it!  And I'm sure none of my friends are dying to know what my avatar looks like.  Sigh.  I think this trend is kinda lame, more focus on the games pls.  I mean... the Netflix thing and the movie downloading?  That's kinda cool, but... facebook?  I bet that dude who made facebook is like, the happiest mofo in the land.  

And the camera thing?  Not... terribly impressed with that either.  Its like a more advanced eyetoy.  I'm fine with my 360 being my first person shooter powerhouse, honest.  I don't play any like... casual games on it.  That's what the wii is for... at least it was but apparently Nintendo is back to being awesome!

Oh, and one more thing... please stop relying on Master Chief.  Two Halos.  Two?!  You really need more exclusive games.  For reals.  And I know you have a ton of them and you even took some from Sony, but... Halo ODST I knew about but now... Halo Reach?  *sigh*

Dear Sony,

Haven't heard too much about your conference yet except for the new PSP GO!  Not sure how I feel about games being download only.  What will we sell in stores?  Download cards probably.  Like Patapon 2 was just a card inside a box.  That seems... kinda pointless, but I bet those PSN cards are going to sell like crazy.  I... still don't know how I feel about this trend of gaming systems being more, like phones and music players, but... I know they're just trying to keep up with the times.  Still... it feels kinda weird to have people comparing systems because of the movies they play and not because its Mario on one and Sonic on the other.  I guess I miss when the focus was games only.  Though Sony is good at doing that, I'll admit.  You know, PS2 = DVD player, PS3 = BluRay player.  And they still managed to release some good games.  But like... remember when Nintendo 64 and PSOne was around and they were competiting for the best games?  I guess we're still doing that, especially with multiplatform games like Assassin's Creed and all, but now its like, "But the PS3 is a BluRay player and 360 isn't, haha.  But hey, you can use facebook on 360 and you can't on PS3, haha.  But you can workout on the wii and check your pulse (new thing coming out) and be healthy so it will sell the best, mwuhahahaha!" 

Just... don't forget my games pls  :)  Then again... the rpgs are FINALLY coming around on PS3 with Demon's Soul, Resonance of Fate, and Final Fantasy.  And the fighers are coming too with Tekken 6, King of Fighters 12, and BlazBlue.  

But back to the conference... haven't heard too much, except God of War 3 is set for March!  It.  Looks.  Amazing.  Oh.  My.  God.  You know it took a while for the PS3 to hit the ground, but when it did... it really did.  Oh Kratos... I want to destroy the world with you!

Games I'm frickin' excited for:
BlazBlu:  If you like Guilty Gear then this game is a must have.  Definitely makes up for that Overture crap they tried on the 360 *gags*  And it comes with a 2 disc soundtrack!  *__*
Tatsunoko vs Capcom:  All right.  So think Marvel vs Capcom except with anime characters.  I thought it would NEVER EVER be released here because of the massive amount of licensing (and there are so many awesome games that aren't brought here because of that, like Shonen Jump All Stars), but imagine my surprise when I saw it on our reserve list at work.  HELL YEAH!  Reasons to love my wii again.
Kingdom Hearts 358/2:  I am not excited about the extra organization member in the least.  I could do without that plot point.  But the cover won me over because it has Roxas looking cool, and well... multiplayer!  Who doesn't want to get together with friends and beat down things with organization members?
Bioshock 2:  Because... its Bioshock. 
Uncharted 2:  Because... its Uncharted.
Assassin's Creed 2:  Though honestly I want to wait on this because I got the first one right away and was kinda... I dunno, wish I didn't pay full price for it... especially since I got the collector's edition -_-  Though it LOOKS fantastic, I just... remember the first one being repetitive so now I'm not so sure...
Dissidia Final Fantasy:  I want to play it.  I just don't want to get a PSP for it since there aren't too many PSP games I desperately want, you know.  Just Crisis Core and... um... yeah.  I will want Birth by Sleep when it comes out, but... yeah, 3 games?  I can't really buy a system for 3 games.
Shin Megami Tensei Devil Survivor:  The first DS game for Shin Megami.  I automatically want anything Shin Megami *__*
Fairytale Fights:  Look this up.  Immediately.  You're a retired fairytale star who decides to gain fame by going on a killing spree.  Seriously.  That's the plot.  Who DOESN'T want to play that!
Batman Arkham Asylum:  I just want the bat-a-rang with the collectors.  Oh.  And the game looks cool  :)
Bayonetta:  ... I... am not sure.  Maybe I just want a ridiculous Devil May Cry like game.  Oh.  And her hair is her weapon and her clothing so... lots of half-nakedness!    

Games I wish people would stop asking about:
Final Fantasy XIII:  ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... ... so, 2010 in Japan now?  *just laughs*  
Kingdom Hearts 3:  I swear... if I see a trailer for this BEFORE I have XIII I'm flying to Japan and smacking Nomura with a large trout.  Though I would not be at all surprised if at the end of 358/2 there's like... a flashforward to Sora or something, in a new outfit, and everyone is like, "OMG WHAT DOES THIS MEAN OMG IS IT KH3 OMG OMG OMG!!!"

Gamer nerdiness I've done recently:
I have acquired a DSi.  Yeah.  I didn't want one at first but the trade in offer was much too tempting.  During the weekend of Detour if you had a DSi reserved, you could trade in your DS Lite and get $100 off the price of a DSi.  That made it $69.99.  Just... yeah.  The camera is fun to play with, too.  Also acquired a pretty little AceKard.  Yeah.  I totally did.  So now I have like, the Japanese Elite Beat Agents which I am ADDICTED TO!  I mostly use the card to get Japanese games that I, you know... can't get here.  So I still plan on buying the DS games I really want, like Kingdom Hearts and the new Shin Megami game.  I'm totally for buying games and supporting people and yadda yadda yadda its just that we'll never get a second Elite Beat Agents or release the Death Note games even if Death Note is so popular... boggles my mind.

And on that note... my wii is getting "fixed" as we speak.  I was against it until like... I learned that you don't have to open it and void warranties and all that (in fact... the GameCube was the same way now that I think about it).  Oh, and you can used an external harddrive on it instead of constantly burning games. 

I'm not going to lie.  I don't particularly care for the wii anymore.  I haven't played it in months.  Mario Kart was like, the last game I was intense about.  But I don't want to sell it, because there's games on it that I like, and I just KNOW that as soon as I sell it Nintendo's going to be like, "LOL we're done worrying about the casual gamer, here's some Mario and Zelda."  >.< 

Oh.  And I have to get my wii "fixed" so I can play Fatal Frame.  Because they decided to NOT bring it out to America.  Bastards.  

Gaming rants:
I feel like I haven't played the 360 in a long time.  I'm not sure when I will... oh Prototype, right.  But after that... when?  All of these downloadable games you're releasing?  Like... GTA and Fallout?  I just... what's with this trend of releasing downloadable things as games you buy in a store?  (the rumor is that PSP's next model is going to be nothing but downloadable games... what's the point of selling download cards in the store when you can go online and download it yourself?  You have to go online to download it off the card anyway)  But anyhow, back to the 360.  Honestly kitten uses it for netflixs.  I feel like I play the PS3 more and I don't particularly care for the exclusive 360 games like Halo or Gears of War.  A lot of the games I like on the 360 are on the PS3 too, so... *sigh*   

I feel like there's a lot of games coming out but I'm like, "La la played that before."  Like... I want to play Infamous on PS3, but I don't want to spend $60 on it.  I just... there hasn't been a game that I was super pumped about since Persona 4... and that was LAST YEAR.  (And I was excited for RE5 and Street Fighter but as far as investing time in a game and truly enjoying it... Persona 4 wins hands down)  I also get spoiled because like... we always get a used copy of a game so quickly, so I kinda want to wait for Infamous.  

Random:  we've never gotten a used copy of Persona 4 since it was released.  Woot.  No one is giving up that game.  NO ONE! 

I am really tired of Nintendo and this casual trend.  Like... My Fitness EA Active Go And Work Out Or Bowl Or Play Baseball Game.  Just... stop.  Stop it.  Now.  Please.  Give me a game I actually want.  Last year at E3 you said the wii was not a fad.  Guess what.  IT IS!  There are so many family fun games now.  Were's my italian plumber?  Where?!  Oh, and please to be stopping with the GameCube remakes.  Mario Tennis and Pikmin?  Same game, SAME COVER, same everything!  What happened to making new games?  Really!  *sigh*  I give you points for PunchOut, I do, but I need more.

White Knight Story:  Yes yes!  Give me more RPGS on the PS3 Please!  For the love of GOD!

Commission #2  :)  I was quite surprised when I got a commission for a Kurama clock.  I LUFF HIM SO MUCH!  But you know, kids today are all about their Death Notes and Narutos (hahahaha me too, actually) that to get a request for an old school bishonen (old school meaning late 80s/early 90s) was really cool.

And... I LUFF HIM SO MUCH!  I forget how pretty Kurama is until I look at pictures again, lol.




All right.  So.  Kurama is painted on the glass... somewhat  ^^;;;  Sketchy style (I'm starting to really like that?)  The rose in the middle is in colored pencil.  The gold part was completely hand-painted... or rather, finger painted.  Poured a ton of paint on the clock and used my finger to smooth it out, ahahahaha that was fun actually. 

I... sort of like this clock?  I dunno, I'm so picky with everything I make  >.<  Kitten really likes how it turned out, I kept wanting to change something or add something and she kept stopping me.  I just hope the person I made it for likes how it turned out.  

So our region did a drawing to send people to E3.  Yes.  THE E3.  Because they had 15 extra registration passes. 

Registration pass = $400. 

But anyhow, GameStop in this region had extras and did a drawing.  Guess whose name got picked?

Not even joking.

The sucky part?  Can't even afford to go.  Can't afford airfare and hotel in such short notice (E3 is in about 10 days here).  Like, $700 for kitten and I (that's 2 tickets and a hotel) is super reasonable for 4 days... except when rent is due and bills and god DAMNIT if they did this drawing a month ago I could've SAVED MONEY FOR THIS  >.<

And I know I told myself I'd be responsible, but that was said BEFORE I actually won, because you know... what are the frickin' odds for my name to get drawn from the entire REGION?  *sigh*  epic fail.

I have other clocks I've done that I need to post, but here's one real quick.  Sora clock I got commissioned for at Anime Detour.  I think I like how it turned out (though I'm always super critical of my work, hahahaha -_-)  





Sora, oh how I love you :)  Details time:  I did Sora in colored pencil and was about to completely color him when I said, you know what?  No, lets make it sketchy, like a sketchbook!  Namine what?  Then the design around him I completely made up, because... I wanted to add something.  And yes, that is a key for a minute hand, thought it would be fun to do.  The clock itself is white and the blue on the edge is literally lines and squiggly things I made up, lol.  

So the inside of my head has been debating on getting a PSP.  It's the only system I don't own at the moment but I just can't justify purchasing it because, well... there's only a few games I want (mostly in the Final Fantasy realm and in the hope that the KH game eventually gets a release date).  

So imagine my surprise when I saw that we are reserving the PSP Dissidia bundle!  Complete with the game, Advent Children, and a 2 GB memory stick.  I was SO CLOSE to reserving it, too!  Was going to do it today since its pay day.

... but then I looked more into it.

... and the US version of the bundle does NOT come with the special Dissidia PSP that was released in Japan that has the design on the back.  The US version simply has a silver PSP  >.<  

And that, ladies and gentlemen, is why I will NOT be getting the bundle.  Because if I really did want a PSP I would just buy a used one and use my discount then get the game when it comes out.  I'm really sad that it isn't anything special like it was in Japan  :(  Why, SquareEnix, why?!

In times where a lot of companies aren't giving raises it was comforting to still get one, and one that will make my Friday paycheck look pretty.  WOOT!   I have to say that its nice to be in a position where one paycheck covers rent and things, instead of how things were 2 years ago where one paycheck barely bought groceries.  Gonna celebrate this weekend by buying my reserved copy of the new Shin Megami game that comes complete with Jack Frost plushie  *__*  It's in such a pretty box, too!  I almost don't want to open it!  

Review went exceptionally well.  Found out that my manager wants me to have my own store and is going to start giving me more managerial tasks and wants me to start making my own decisions as if he isn't there to call on for help.  He keeps saying by next year he wants me promoted  O.o  That is... super quick!  If that happened I wouldn't know what to do with myself!  My own GameStop?  Oh the things I would do to it *coughs* er... that didn't come out right.  But I do believe that there aren't enough female managers, at all, so this would be really awesome.

More random updates later, time to sleep and try and get rid of sore throat.  Lose. 

Still at my mom's place, just now waking up and getting ready to take her out to lunch.  It's been a fun visit and she was totally surprised to see us, tee hee, that was the best part.  She like... cried, and I was all, "Hahahaha gotcha Happy Mother's Day mwuhahahahaha!" 

Visited my grandmother who, wow, is really hard to look at  :(  But she's holding on, I guess.  She kinda remembered me.  Kinda.  Then immediately forgot about 2 minutes later.  Though the cute thing is that my mom, who can't really call kitten and I girlfriends in front of her, chose the term "life long friends."  That was kinda sweet, I think  :)

Found out that my bitch ass aunt who caused so much drama with my grandmother and sending her here and stealing her money is actually coming to visit tomorrow.  Oh darn, we'll already be gone.  But she isn't staying here, she's staying at a hotel because my mother REFUSES to have her in her house.  Good.  But my uncle is all, "Blah blah blah we're family we should make up," fuck that noise.  She STOLE her own mother's money and had her in shitty living conditions while she spent it, there is no forgiveness.  I'm really glad I came up here so that my mom could have some fun before the inevitable explosion that's going to happen once my aunt gets here.  My mom is set to kick her ass if she even sees her, and as much as I don't want my mother to go to jail or anything I would absolutely love it if she kicked this woman's ass.  I hate her that much.  I can't trust her, ever, and never will.  

Anyhow, the visit was super nice  :)  Not leaving until later on this afternoon, after going to Red Lobster and the mall to hang out.  Whee!   

Kitten and I are off to visit my mommy for mother's day in a super sekret surprise visit!  Won't be online for a few days thanks to mom's lack of any form of technology that involves computers, so bye everyone!  Be good!  And write lots of smutty fic for me to read when I get back  :)

Haven't updated in forever and there's a lot of story to tell about cons, work, and life in general but I'm tired after work and feel the need to post this huge bit of lulz:

To the kid who came in today who ignored my warnings about KH Re:Chain of Memories (I'm sorry, I hate the card system) and ignored my KH wristband:  There is absolutely.  No way.  A KH3 available on the PS3 in Japan.  No, your friend is Japan is NOT playing it, because it does NOT exist.  Do NOT try and argue with me about this.  I will only laugh in your face.  That is all. 

If you go into the movie expending nothing, then it's not that bad.  It's something you have to see with a group of people who expect the worst, simply because you can all go "WTF" together.  What made it awesome was going at midnight and seeing cosplayers and people who spiked their hair much better than Justin Chatwin  ^^  And the movie has to be watched MST3K style, it just... has to.  

If I were to grade the movie (hahaha I will be later for article purposes) I actually wouldn't give it a failing grade, because to be honest it IS entertaining.  There are some clever lines... sometimes, and the action isn't horrible... until they go over-the-top with the effects.  And the acting... *gags*  It's entertaining to mock, for reals, especially if you're a Dragonball fan.  And even people who aren't fans can see the horribleness in it all  :)

All and all, its not as bad as I thought, but its still bad.  It pretty much met my low expectations.
